Portuguese champions Sporting Lisbon is one of the eight clubs that have been sanctioned

by Uefa for Financial Fair Play so far.

They have been fined for 250,000 euros by Uefa and while their rivals Porto also fined for

300,000 over their guilt.

They have until 31 January 2022 to pay the overdue amounts otherwise face a ban from Uefa competitions.

Sporting have qualified for the knockout stage of this season’s Champions League.

The other six clubs sanctioned are Spain’s Real Betis, Astana of Kazakhstan, Romania’s CFR Cluj, CSKA Sofia

of Bulgaria, Gibraltar’s Mons Calpe and Portugal’s Santa Clara.

All of eight clubs have to prove that all of their payments must be paid with the outstanding overdue amounts

to UEFA on time within 31 January 2022.

Otherwise they will have to face for the punishment over their late payment and more than that they will not be

able to play in a major tournament in European football.
